Life in New Zealand

Most New Zealand immigrants will vouch for the fact that New Zealand has many great opportunities available and a lifestyle that no other country can offer. Whether your preference is the indoors or great outdoors, being at the beach or going to the theatre, playing sport or just pottering in your garden, New Zealand has an endless range of things to do, see and enjoy.

New Zealand’s culture is youthful and diverse with a rich South Pacific influence, while still maintaining some of that “old English” quaintness. It’s the perfect place to master the work-life balance with access to beautiful beaches and more golf courses per capita than anywhere else in the world together with other recreational facilities. Where else in world can you go for a surf in the morning and snowboarding in the afternoon.

The cost of living in New Zealand is excellent, since house prices are more reasonable than many places in the world such as Europe, the USA and Asia. The public health system is among the best in the world, with life-long healthcare available to all residents. The Government offers subsidies for doctor’s visits, prescriptions and to those people who require frequent treatment or who are on low incomes. All public hospital treatment is free with a 24 hour accident and emergency service available. If an injury occurs at work, at home, in the car, playing sport or doing any other activity, the government-legislated accident compensation scheme (ACC) helps pay for hospital, doctor, physiotherapist and any specialist treatment.

The standard of education in New Zealand is also considered to be very high, where international students flock to New Zealand to take advantage of the well recognised courses and qualifications on offer. The Universities are 70% government funded which makes them very affordable for resident students.

The schooling system is government funded and provides a comprehensive curriculum of academic, sporting and skills-based learning options, in a positive environment. Most schools, even those in inner city areas, have their own playing fields, gymnasiums and swimming pools.

Generally New Zealanders live a relaxed lifestyle taking advantage of their pleasant climate and gorgeous natural resources. Sports are a popular pastime and are encouraged from a young age with the result that the population takes part in a large number of sporting codes, resulting in the creation of a proud sporting heritage.

It is no surprise that so many people wish to immigrate to this beautiful island and why New Zealand Immigration is becoming increasingly popular.
