New Zealand Partner and Unmarried Partner Visa If your partner is a New Zealand citizen or resident and you want to come to New Zealand to live together, you will need to apply for a residence visa. In order to qualify, you must have been living with your partner for 12 months or more in a relationship that is genuine and stable. To be eligible you must: - Be able to provide evidence that you have been living together for a minimum of 12 months
- Meet health and character requirements
- Be aged 18+ years, or between 16 and 18 and have the support of your parents/guardian
- Be able to demonstrate public recognition of your relationship from friends and family
- Provide a marriage or civil union certificate
You may be required to attend interviews with New Zealand immigration representatives as well as lodging all relevant documents. Before the visa is approved, the New Zealand Immigration Service (NZIS) will need to see documentation such as medical certificates, police checks and your partner’s citizenship or residence details. |
