New Zealand Dependent Child Visa

This visa is for dependent children of New Zealand citizens or residents who want to live there permanently. To be eligible you must:

• Be 16 or younger, or 17-24 and single with no children
• Meet health and character requirements
• Be totally or substantially dependent on an adult for financial support whether you live with that adult or not
• Provide evidence of your relationship to your parents and their residence status in New Zealand

If you are aged 17-24 years you may be asked to provide evidence that you are dependent on an adult for financial support.

Children under 16 who have a parent living outside New Zealand must provide evidence that custody or visitation rights of that parent will not be breached.
